Stress of the Spill

For those of you who did not know Rookie, he was an excellent entertainer, captain, fisherman, outdoorsmen, hunter, father, mentor and friend. He will be greatly missed. There was nothing but good times out there on the gulf.

RIP my friend!

No oil on the Beach Today!

It is such a good feeling to not see the clumps. The crews are out working hard on the beaches to remove the washed up bits. Now is the time to come and experience the white sands of Perdido Key! There is no oil here today!

First Oil on the Beach

In Perdido Key, Florida yesterday we saw our first oil on the beach. You must see the photos to understand what it looks like. There is no smell and it has the consistency of warm melted wax.
It is scattered along the tide line mixed within the sargassum grass and debris.

The water is so clear. It is beautiful and refreshing. The sound of the waves are lulling the sun bathers into the ultimate relaxation. People are swimming and floating and hanging on the sand bar. It is a beautiful day in Perdido Key! Let's hope it stays that way!
